Cobblers about Stepping Up

‘Opinions are like belly-buttons – everyone has one.”

Every day I receive e-mails, some from way across the world. Some days I get phone calls which may be from anywhere in the country. I work remotely with a wonderful diversity of people who all have one thing in common – they are all struggling to come to terms with the impact of dyslexia in their lives. I sit in on meetings, some of which are heart-breaking. Every day I am listening, listening, listening.

I believe it is not good to give your opinion uninvited, so where do my opinions go?

Every day is a special  day for someone. Today is my late mother’s birthday, and in dedication to her strength and wisdom, it is time for me to be strong, step up and share my opinions about my experiences working with dyslexic children.

Twitter is too short – way too short for a teacher! Blogging is too fussy. I am writing a collection of e-mails to my dedicated followers. I shall call it Cobblers as a reference to my beautiful home town of Lyme Regis, which has been such an inspiration to me.

Remember, as you read, to hold your life lightly – there may be an opinion which changes your whole perspective on dyslexia.
